Conflict Resolution Day
This is an international celebration – held on the third Thursday in October – of creative and peaceful approaches to ending conflict.
In Alberta, the Dispute Resolution Network partners with non-profit organizations to support and promote events that raise awareness about the many approaches to preventing and resolving conflict.
Conflict Resolution Day was started in 2005 by the Association for Conflict Resolution in the United States. Now communities around the world have adopted proclamations designating a day or week in October to promote alternatives in dispute resolution.
Alberta has been celebrating Conflict Resolution Day since 2008.
